Welding Hydraulics Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Millwright Journeyman/ Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment used in a mini steel mill environment. This position requires strong technical knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyor systems , as well as a commitment to maintaining a 5S-compliant and safe workplace .
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, install, align, dismantle, and repair mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems , gearboxes, motors, pumps, and conveyors. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize equipment reliability. Diagnose mechanical failures, identify root causes, and perform corrective actions in a timely manner. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate and efficient work execution. Operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively. Collaborate with electrical, production, and safety teams to support continuous operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and 5S-compliant work area , following all safety and environmental procedures. Participate in ongoing training and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Qualifications:
Journeyman-level Millwright certification or equivalent industrial experience required. Minimum 2 years of millwright or mechanic experience , preferably in a steel or heavy industrial environment. Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors, and rotating equipment . Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic failures using diagnostic tools and technical drawings. Familiarity with 5S, OSHA, and plant safety standards . Basic welding and fabrication skills
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED.
Flexibility to work weekends, and rotating shifts as needed.
ROTATING SHIFT AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED. 1ST, 2ND AND 3RD SHIFTS ROTATING IN 7 DAY STRETCHES WITH 1,2 AND 4 DAYS OFF IN BETWEEN. WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS A MUST. PRE EMPLOYMENT REQUIRES A BACKGROUND, DRUG TEST, PHYSICAL AND HPE.
