Role Summary and Strategic Impact The Sheet Metal Journeyman is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal products and HVAC duct systems on commercial and/or industrial construction projects. This role requires a high level of technical skill, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to quality workmanship and job site safety. I. Key Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble, and install HVAC ductwork, fittings, and sheet metal components.
Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications.
Perform layout work and field measurements.
Install dampers, VAV boxes, exhaust systems, and related HVAC components.
Ensure installations meet project specifications and quality standards.
Perform field modifications and troubleshoot installation issues.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Assist in mentoring apprentices as needed.
Required Qualifications and Competencies License:
Valid Journeyman Sheet Metal License (Texas or Oklahoma)
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of sheet metal experience, commercial experience a plus
Key Traits:
Strong knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems, tools, and safety procedures. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces. Comfortable working in various weather conditions. Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and climbing. Compensation and Benefits (Wichita Falls, TX)
