Position Overview Working directly for under the MRF Manager, the Machinery Repair Facility (MRF) Supervisor will have the knowledge and ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of any level MRF Technician, as well as maintain the added authority and responsibility to supervise and direct all of the specialized maintenance technicians within the MRF department during daily work . The MRF Supervisor will have extensive knowledge, skills and experience regarding this specialized equipment and understands the critical role it performs regarding its unique purpose. The MRF Supervisors must have an extremely strong background and working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems for daily work, as well as fabrication and welding experience. Ability to lead others safely, provide clear work instructions, work unsupervised, make timely critical decisions, and be self-motivated with an overall good work ethic while performing all assigned tasks. Must be able to travel and work at remote locations. Individual shall have advanced understanding of our program's inventory of equipment and machinery. The ability to use Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and Outlook email. Must have, or be able to obtain, passport, security clearance, a forklift operator's license and Cat 3 Crane Operator certification and rigger certification. Responsibilities Supervisor will monitor the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance work of these technicians while at the depot repair facility or while aboard ships, at various shipyards and other designated locations worldwide. Supervise and oversee actives of technicians conducting shop level cable handling machinery repair activities, maintenance, & fabrication, as well as other related work assignments, as designated by Depots Machinery Repair Facilities Manager. Perform administrative support activities, such as computer-based training, database record keeping, report writing, and other IT related activities. Supervise and assist with equipment repairs aboard vessels, both in port, and while underway, locally, or abroad depending on ships location. Execute planned, scheduled, and directed daily work activities within timelines and available personnel. Travel will be required to support mission requirements. Qualifications High school degree or equivalent required. Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience. Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience. Prior Military/Military Mechanical /Technical Engineering experience as plus. Minimum 15 years of recent experience refurbishing and/or rebuilding cable handling machinery and associated cable handling equipment and marine systems. Possess advanced working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, pneumatic, and plc-based machinery systems. Shipboard systems knowledge as plus. Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems drawings, and schematics Working knowledge of design and fabrication materials. Knowledge or experience in welding, cutting, grinding, fabricating, and painting. Operate and maintain building plant equipment as well, such as boilers/heating/HVAC systems. Operate, maintain, and overhaul misc. cable machinery including Cable Haulers, Cable Drums, Transporters, DOHB, Trolley Hoists, and other types of machinery. Understand operational processes of sand blasting and paint booth equipment. Assist in physical and mechanical loading and unloading cable containers. Verify material to support repairs/overhauls of equipment has been identified and ordered to meet production schedules. Operate Forklifts and CAT III Cranes, and rig equipment for lifting when required. Use Microsoft programs to maintain machinery history, quality assurance records, and misc. drawings and technical documentation. Forklift Operator and Crane Operator/Rigger certification. Candidate will have to perform in an
ISO-9000
rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere. Must be able to obtain security clearance.
