Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is currently seeking a reliable, responsible Property Maintenance Specialist to help maintain and care for our facilities in our Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate would be someone who will take pride and ownership in the appearance of our building. With minimal guidance execute facilities services and repairs of moderate complexity including custodial, furniture set-ups, moves, event set-ups, engravings, and grounds work. 2. Assist employees in routine duties, techniques, and department goals. 3. Perform basic repairs or equipment installations, painting, and small carpentry repairs. 4. Accurately complete all stocking, ordering, and custodial related duties and ensure the proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. 5. Follow and promote continuous improvement of workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities. 6. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. 7. Understand. Create. Simplify. 8. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Ability to independently operate custodial related equipment and use applicable chemicals, supplies, hand, and power tools. Ability to perform basic repairs including carpentry, painting, and equipment installation. Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently complete projects and tasks. Read, understand, follow, and strictly enforce safety procedures. Work various shifts, hours, and days depending on workload. Possess a valid driver's license. High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications 4 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance and operations. Experience with maintenance, repair and installation of HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing. Physical Requirements Lift and maneuver 40 pounds frequently Pull weight from high/low shelves Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders Reach Bend Grip Twist Stand for at least 8 hours Location Pullman, WA Competitive pay. Pay Range - $23.93 - $35.36 Hourly Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role.
