Job Description Summary This position monitors the functions of the boiler and refrigeration equipment to ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant operation of heating and cooling systems, which are vital for maintaining product quality and safety. This position has the responsibility of performing routine preventative maintenance as well as performing unplanned repairs while supporting operations. Job Description P erform s maintenance work and care of equipment settings, pressures, or levels within plant guidelines ; general maintenance on other specialty equipment unique to boiler and refrigeration . Understands and can explain the purpose and operation of all equipment related to boiler and refrigeration and makes decisions on appropriate troubleshooting and repair of equipment as situations warrant . Starts up, operates , and shuts down related equipment and systems. Diagnoses and repair s problems with valves, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment , pumps, motors, etc . Reads operating instructions and maintenance manuals to perform repairs. Updates CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) with status and details of work order results daily. Performs non-routine maintenance jobs as assigned. Maintains organized workspaces, tools, support 5S , and documentation .

Basic and Preferred Education/ Certifications:

(Required & Preferred) High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Lock-out/Tag-out certification is required . If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements

Skills and Experience:

Experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment, specifically food processing highly preferred. Experience with Ammonia or Freon refrigeration systems highly preferred. Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. ( Requirement may vary by location). Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility . Ability to perform basic math functions, required . To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs Applicability of job levels varies by location and is determined by the plant skills matrix.

Physical Environment/Demands:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently . Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature Exposure to manufacturing environments to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures . Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment . Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties . Ability to operate work related equipment Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
