Job Description Welder-Maintenance - Colby, WI Position Summary This position is responsible for welding and fabrication as the primary focus, with general maintenance duties performed as time permits. The role supports production, equipment reliability, and facility improvements while maintaining safety, quality, and food defense standards. General Requirements Work cooperatively in a team environment and follow all directions. Follow time and attendance policies per company handbook. Maintain professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication. Must be able to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods. Tolerate warm or hot seasonal temperatures. Basic computer knowledge required. Quality Control Requirements Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Understand HACCP principles and their importance. Follow all Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards. Maintain excellent personal hygiene and proper work attire. Report any suspicious activity related to food defense. Safety Requirements Follow all OSHA regulations applicable to job tasks. Stay aware of surroundings including forklift traffic and trip hazards. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain guards and safety devices on machinery and structures. Never operate equipment without proper training or certification.
Education / Certifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of sanitary stainless steel TIG welding (preferred/required). Basic fabrication and mechanical knowledge. Job Responsibilities (Welding Priority) Primary - Welding & Fabrication Perform TIG welding on stainless steel equipment and piping. Fabricate, modify, and repair stainless steel components. Repair cracks, holes, and structural issues in equipment. Build tables, platforms, shelving, carts, and railings. Install stainless steel tubing and production components. Secondary - Maintenance (As Time Permits) Perform general maintenance on production equipment and facility. Assist with equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustments. Install, adjust, or reinforce production lines and equipment. Support preventative maintenance activities. General Duties Complete tasks assigned by Maintenance Manager or leadership. Support continuous improvement and production efficiency. Respond to food defense concerns or suspicious activity. Work Conditions / Physical Demand Guide Occasi of shift Regularly = 41-60% of shift Frequently = 60-90% of shift C of shift Note Employees are required to immediately report any food safety or quality concerns to a supervisor or authorized personnel. ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
