Job Description

Position Overview The Industrial Mechanic / Millwright will perform a variety of mechanical, fabrication, machining and equipment-rebuilding duties. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working with heavy equipment, solving mechanical problems and learning new skills. The ideal candidate will be dependable, mechanically inclined and willing to develop into a well-rounded industrial technician capable of working on equipment from disassembly through inspection, repair, machining, assembly and final preparation. What You'll Do Responsibilities may include:
  • Disassemble, inspect and rebuild heavy rolling-mill equipment and components
  • Identify worn, damaged or defective components
  • Remove and install bearings, seals, shafts, bushings and other mechanical parts
  • Perform mechanical fitting, alignment and assembly
  • Measure components using precision measuring tools
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication as needed
  • Operate shop equipment, hand tools and power tools safely
  • Assist with manual and CNC machining operations
  • Learn CNC machine operation, setup, tooling and basic programming
  • Read and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints and CNC setup documentation
  • Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and part quality
  • Clean, prepare and organize equipment and components for inspection and rebuilding
  • Assist with troubleshooting and determining repair requirements
  • Assist with job preparation, production planning and material handling
  • Assist with loading, rigging and handling large components
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
  • Perform other industrial repair, machining and fabrication duties as required Qualifications and Experience We are more interested in mechanical ability, work ethic and willingness to learn than a specific job title. Experience in any of the following is valuable:
  • Millwright work
  • Industrial maintenance
  • Steel mills or heavy manufacturing
  • Heavy equipment repair
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Manual machining
  • CNC machine operation, setup or programming
  • CNC mills, lathes or other machine tools
  • Blueprint and mechanical drawing interpretation
  • Precision measurement and inspection
  • Bearings and mechanical power transmission
  • Hydraulics
  • Rigging and lifting
  • Equipment assembly and rebuilding CNC experience is a plus but is not required.
We are willing to train the right mechanically inclined person who is interested in learning CNC machining and developing into a more advanced shop role. Experience with rolling-mill equipment is also a major plus but is not required. We can teach the right person the specialized equipment and rebuilding processes used in our shop. Growth and Advancement Titan Steel WV is expanding its machining and equipment-rebuilding capabilities. The right person will have the opportunity to develop skills in:

  • Understands that quality matters more than simply getting a job out the door Compensation and Advancement Pay will be based on demonstrated experience, skill level and capability.
Advancement and incentives will be based on skill development, performance, reliability, quality of work and increased responsibility. Pay:
$22.00 - $32.00 per hour
