Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Customer Support Technician specializing in LMR (Land Mobile Radio), DMR (Digital Mobile Radio), and RF (Radio Frequency) systems. In this role, you will deliver expert technical assistance to clients and field teams, troubleshoot complex radio communication issues, and ensure optimal operation of critical communication infrastructure. Your expertise will help maintain seamless communication networks vital for safety, security, and operational efficiency across various industries. Duties Provide comprehensive technical support for LMR, DMR, and RF communication systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Conduct root cause analysis on system failures or performance issues, identifying underlying problems and implementing effective solutions. Assist with project scheduling to ensure timely deployment of new systems or upgrades, coordinating with clients and internal teams. Use AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks to interpret and modify schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical layouts related to radio infrastructure. Perform soldering, electrical wiring, and assembly tasks using hand tools and surface-mount technology to repair or upgrade equipment. Utilize scripting languages like Python or CAD-based tools to automate testing procedures or streamline system diagnostics. Conduct equipment repair and maintenance activities on-site or in the workshop, ensuring all systems meet NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and electrical safety protocols. Operate testing instruments such as ohmmeters for electrical measurements; troubleshoot electrical systems; verify system integrity through debugging processes. Collaborate with manufacturing teams during the assembly of radio modules or control panels; support continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes. Document all technical procedures accurately; prepare detailed reports on system status, repairs performed, and recommendations for future upgrades. Skills Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles related to radio frequency systems and electrical wiring. Experience with project scheduling tools and techniques to manage multiple installations efficiently. Proficiency in schematic design using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks; ability to interpret complex schematics. Hands-on soldering skills with surface-mount technology; familiarity with hand tools used in electronics assembly and repair. Expertise in debugging electronic equipment; conducting root cause analysis for system failures. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and electrical systems integration. Familiarity with NEC standards for electrical installations; experience ensuring compliance during system setup or maintenance. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment assembly and repair; experience working with mechanical components in communication devices. Ability to script using Python or similar languages for automation tasks within testing environments. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail; capable of troubleshooting complex RF issues efficiently.
