Job Description
Great opportunity with high pay and flexible working days and hours that can work into a long term career position with near six figure gross annual income. The opening is immediate. We need an individual with proven mechanical and refrigeration skills. The successful candidate would be a skilled refrigeration mechanic who is able to diagnose, repair and maintain commercial ice cream manufacturing machinery and soft ice cream machines. Specific knowledge or experience in repairing ice cream equipment is highly desirable, but not a requirement. The ability to apply your combined mechanical, electrical, refrigeration knowledge along with common sense and the willingness to seek guidance from in-house technical advisors will go a long way toward assuring long term success in this position. Consultation and diagnosis are key to being successful. The position involves repairing low temperature small systems equipment at our customers' locations throughout Southern California as well as in-shop work at the Lake Elsinore location. The successful full time applicant should be proficient in refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical controls diagnosis and be able to distinguish between the three as to the cause of equipment failure. CLEAN DRIVING RECORD
, have their own high quality appropriate tools (i.e. refrigeration gauges, leak detector, refrigerant scale, micron gauge, and standard SAE hand tools) and know when and how to use them . The candidate must also be able to pass a comprehensive background check and have a clear employment history with related experience. 5 years experience is desirable. The ability to braze up to 1" copper, have an EPA refrigerant handling certificate, and familiarity with R404a, R448a and R134a systems are all requirements for progressing beyond the starting pay rate. Experience with A1L refrigerants is a plus. There will be lots of driving all over Southern California in a company service vehicle since most of the work should be done at the customer's location. There may also be rare overnight stays requested in Central California. There can be lots of over time and there may be an occasional request to work on a weekend in an emergency situation. Lots of hours means lots of $$$. After the initial training period at a lower training hourly rate, a qualified quality individual who can handle a busy schedule with some overtime. Responsibilities Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability and return equipment to factory operating specifications. Troubleshoot customer reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner. Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine. Perform and complete other related duties as assigned Keep logs of work and report on exceptions. Skills Experience with low temperature (not air conditioning) refrigeration systems. Excellent knowledge of machinery, electrical and other systems and their components. High skill level in using various hand tools and basic refrigeration tools.
