Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Supermarket Refrigeration Technician to join our maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems that keep perishable goods fresh and safe. Your expertise will help maintain a seamless shopping experience for customers while supporting the overall efficiency of our supermarket operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to quality and safety. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, including walk-in coolers, freezers, and display cases. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using schematics, HVAC design principles, and electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters. Repair or replace faulty components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, thermostats, and control systems to ensure reliable operation. Conduct plumbing repairs related to refrigeration systems and assist with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) system maintenance. Read and interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings to facilitate precise repairs and system upgrades. Utilize welding and equipment repair skills for component fabrication or replacement when necessary. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all maintenance activities for compliance and future reference. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician specializing in refrigeration systems within a commercial or supermarket setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in Parallel racks, self contained units, and large dehumidifying rtus Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot complex electrical or mechanical issues efficiently. Familiarity with field service procedures including equipment repair, property maintenance, air conditioning systems, supermarket racks and mechanical hvac chiller work. Experience with welding techniques and the use of tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers preferred. Knowledge of property maintenance standards relevant to supermarket environments. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
