Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration units, including ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance. Conduct field service visits for appliance repair, property maintenance, air conditioning units, boilers, and other mechanical equipment. Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to perform electrical testing and repairs with precision. Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and system conditions. Support installation projects involving HVAC design principles, construction procedures, and equipment setup. Operate a driver vehicle safely to transport tools, parts, or equipment between job sites. Collaborate with team members to ensure safety standards are met during all maintenance and repair activities. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician specializing in refrigeration, HVAC/R systems, or related mechanical fields. Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and HVAC design principles. Hands-on experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with plumbing systems, appliance repair techniques, welding skills, and boiler operation. Mechanical knowledge of air conditioning units, property maintenance tasks, and equipment repair procedures. Ability to read technical manuals accurately and troubleshoot using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Prior field service experience in commercial settings is preferred; construction background is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
