In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and refrigeration systems across commercial properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of mechanical systems, enhance energy efficiency, and uphold safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical knowledge in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional service to clients. Responsibilities Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and building automation systems. Diagnose electrical diagnostics issues using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot mechanical system failures efficiently. Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, plumbing diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams to accurately perform repairs or installations. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation and longevity. Perform welding and equipment repair tasks as needed to restore system functionality. Maintain compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration systems. Document all service activities thoroughly, including inspection reports, repair logs, and system performance data. Requirements Proven construction experience with a solid understanding of mechanical systems repair and building automation systems. Service technician experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) environments. Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, electrical diagnostics, and ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles is preferred. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in welding or boiler operation are a plus. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in appliance repair, property maintenance, or field service roles. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse settings; strong problem-solving skills are essential. Physical ability to perform tasks that involve lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, or working in confined spaces.
