Job Description

Purpose The Refrigeration Technician I is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems and equipment within Sysco's facilities, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations. This role requires a basic understanding of refrigeration principles, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair common refrigeration issues. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and diagnose basic refrigeration system malfunctions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. Repair or replace defective parts (e.g., compressors, fans, valves). Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures. Ensure proper disposal of refrigerants. Keep work areas clean and organized. Research and evaluate emerging technologies and best practices in maintenance management. Mentor and provide guidance to other analysts. Collaborate with other departments (operations, logistics, etc.) to ensure alignment and support business needs. Skills Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of electrical systems related to refrigeration equipment. Ability to use hand and power tools. Understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to refrigerant handling. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Good communication skills. Financial acumen and budget management skills. Certifications Education High school diploma or GED Experience 0-2+ years of experience Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in various temperature conditions (e.g., cold storage areas). Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb. Travel Requirements 0-25%
