Job Description
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Summary The Mechanic works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. This role includes troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. This person provides direction for effective execution of maintenance activity on all machinery and equipment throughout the plant and office facilities. The Maintenance Mechanic is also responsible for the optimum utilization of available resources such as manpower, equipment, time, etc. This person must be responsible for decisions, actions and failures; must establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results. In addition, the maintenance mechanic must partner with others to get work done and work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.
Key Responsibilities Core Mechanical & Maintenance Duties Perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance on high‑bay freezer and warehouse mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical system failures, including hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, conveyors, and other plant equipment. Ensure maximum equipment efficiency, uptime, and system reliability. Maintain and repair equipment in cold environments (as low as -5°F). Electrical & Control Systems Conduct basic electrical repair in an industrial environment. Assist with troubleshooting 480V power systems and 24V-120V control voltages (preferred skill).
