Job Description

Job Summary:
The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to troubleshooting and repairing heating, ventilation, air, and refrigeration equipment involving ammonia or other refrigerants adhering to safety standards, performing daily checks on refrigeration systems/equipment, cleaning and changing filters while observing all safety regulations and ensuring GMP and quality standards are met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, air, and refrigeration equipment involving ammonia. Perform daily checks on all refrigeration systems/equipment as required Ammonia system, coolers, HVAC systems etc. as required Perform scheduled maintenance on evaporators and condensers Change and clean filters in a timely manner Monitor, clean, and repair plant systems (e.g., condensers, filtrations, etc.) Requisition parts and supplies as needed Inspect and clean work areas using proper tools according to policy and procedure Complete required paperwork in a timely manner Maintain and complete all required documentation following OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements (e.g., logs, records, checklist, etc.) May perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Advanced troubleshooting skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to solve problems independently Knowledge of Plant safety, GMP's Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Ability to be LOTO/PIT/confined space certified Ability to be respirator trained Ability to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position Regular attendance to ensure production requirements are met Ability to read blueprints, drawings, plans Knowledge of Planned Maintenance Excellent leadership skills Excellent communication skills Must be well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to work individually as well as with others as a team Intermediate math skills Basic computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheets Ability to complete work/purchase requests Minimum 2 years of refrigeration maintenance or related experience required. RETA Level #1. Industrial experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to lift push or pull up to 75 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, and reach Ability to work in cold, wet, hot, and noisy environments Ability to work around machinery and moving equipment Work Environment Meat processing/manufacturing facility Exposure to: Cold and wet production areas Extremely Hot production areas Mechanical equipment and conveyors Electrical systems Boiler/engine room conditions Noise and industrial hazards

[1st: 6:00am / 2nd: 2:00pm / 3rd: 10:00pm]
Schedule:
Monday to Saturday, you will work up to 10 to 12 hours a day
