Assigned Company Service Van Work Location:
On the road at multiple customer sites across Southern California.
Base Location:
Buena Park, CA About the job position As a Service Technician at Cavendish Hydrogen, you will be responsible for the final assembly, installation, commissioning, service, and maintenance of hydrogen fueling stations in California and abroad. Your responsibility starts at the receipt of each module from Denmark and ends at the decommissioning and recycling of the equipment at the end of its lifecycle. You will report to the Director, Projects & Service - North America of Cavendish Hydrogen.
Your tasks will include:
  • Final assembly of the semi-finished modules
  • Installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites
  • Execution of product warranties
  • Perform servicing of equipment based on planned service and maintenance, as well as unforeseeable corrective maintenance, including troubleshooting—which will require workhour flexibility for unplanned service
  • Ensuring that all executed service actions are based on Cavendish Hydrogen safety standards and follow related customer specifications
  • Documenting and reporting repetitive failures and quality issues, which will include providing feedback to the responsible manager using existing KPI and data recording systems
  • Provide ongoing feedback to Projects & Service Management, Product Development, and document owners to continuously improve Service SOPs, Manuals, and training materials.
  • Working alongside subcontractors and other technicians onsite, especially regarding safety topics
  • Various tasks at the warehouse that could involve inventory management, safety and or housekeeping
  • Full Documentation per specified requirements for all work and actions taken
  • Fulfills required field service reports, which document work performed, nature of problem, hours worked, etc.
  • Be flexible with travel requirements with short notice locally and internationally
  • On call weekly "Duty" will be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You possess a relevant educational background and experience in installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of complex machines or plants. You have a strong technical oriented mindset, are curious, and can quickly understand complex technical systems to find potential technical failures and quality issues. You are structured, consistent and clear with documentation, and follow work procedures in a safe and efficient manner. You are an effective communicator, highly motivated and resourceful, making you effective in navigating different departments, building relationships and teams to solve problems. You are patient and amiable, allowing you to manage workflow on complex tasks involving many specialists and teams. You work well independently and excel at working in teams. You are skilled in both written and spoken English. Requirements
  • Relevant technical training as an as an electrician or mechatronics technician; including high-pressure compressors, piping, valves and gas cooling systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in industrial/energy operations and familiarity with electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
  • Basic understanding of piping and instrumentation drawings and electrical drawings
  • Experience working with flammable gases and high pressure systems
  • General understanding of work safety procedures and experience in risk assessments
  • Experience with service work in the oil and gas industry, or the like, where there are high demands on safety
  • Understanding of customer requirements and skilled in customer communication
  • Experienced in both independent and teamwork, plus high flexibility and ability to work 24/7 on-call
  • Able to travel regionally or international on short notice as needed
  • Experience working within established service procedures, instructions, bill of materials and standards
  • Good knowledge in the remote operation and monitoring of complex systems
  • Maintains an organized and clean work area in the workshop and onsite
  • Must be punctual, flexible, trainable/coachable and a self-starter. Able to think outside of the box and follow detailed instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, and speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees, in order to perform the above listed duties. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with the assistance of lifting tools or other employees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. It will be beneficial if you have:
