Job Description

Here is a truth most repair shops never say out loud: the technician tears down the motor, but the quote decides whether the customer trusts the shop. A vague quote kills trust. A clear one builds a ten-year customer. Ace Electric Motor & Pump Co. in Stockton, CA is hiring a Repair Estimator (some shops call it a Service Writer or Shop Repair Quoter) and treating the role like what it is: the voice of the shop.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
▪ Review teardown findings with technicians — rewinds, rebuilds, bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, balancing ▪ Turn technician notes into customer language: clear scope, accurate pricing, real timelines, honest options ▪ Contact vendors for parts pricing, availability, and lead times ▪ Follow up on open quotes so good work never dies in an inbox ▪ Keep quotes, approvals, and work orders organized so the whole shop moves faster
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
▪ Experience in repair estimating, service writing, shop quoting, parts, or industrial mechanical/electrical repair ▪ Ability to read technical repair notes and translate them for customers ▪ Strong computer, communication, and follow-up skills; sharp attention to detail If you have ever rewritten someone else's confusing quote in your head and thought "I could make this so much clearer" — this seat is yours. Apply with your resume.
