POSITION OVERVIEW

The Service Technician is responsible for providing high quality technical and customer support through trouble shooting, diagnosis, and sound, timely problem solving. During the season, the Service Technician provides rapid, quality service to customers to ensure their equipment is operational during their busiest time. Duties are performed either at an Oxbo service location or at the customer's site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Troubleshoots and repairs issues with Oxbo equipment, either in the field, at the customer's site, or in the Oxbo service facility.
• Performs scheduled, preventative maintenance and overhauls on customer equipment
• Fabricates special picking, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
• Communicates relevant customer and/or equipment issues to the Product Support Manager
• Completes required documentation regarding work performed or customer issues
• Supports effective and efficient business practice.
• Embraces and follows all safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Maintains positive business relationships, good attendance, punctuality, and acts in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
• Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED or trade school completion in diesel equipment repair, agricultural equipment, or related area
• 6 months of relevant experience in equipment repair
• Must have a valid CA driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
• Must be willing and able to drive for work on a regular basis
• Must be available to work daily and weekend overtime as required, especially during the season
• Proficient in using basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office
• Good understanding and ability to execute fundamental math concepts
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to analyze, solve problems, and make decisions
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 year of relevant work experience in equipment repair
• Experience building, repairing, and working on ag harvesters
• Proficient in basic hydraulic and mechanical techniques
• Knowledge in the use of welding equipment and acetylene

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Must have the ability to travel to Oxbo's California service locations and customers throughout the valley as assigned or required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee may also occasionally be required to work from heights. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Dust and dirt levels are commensurate with agricultural field and machinery work.
