  • Prepare and keeps clean work area for installation of equipment;
  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Analyze proper fastening system for equipment support.
  • Terminate wiring and equipment as per code or job specification.
  • Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams/blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Installs all solar related components AC and DC electric per plans.
  • Installs Solar modules and racking per plans.
Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required?

EducationHigh School Degree or Equivalent Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience5 to 10 years of experience. Vocational School or approved apprenticeship training. Skills &; RequirementsMinimum 18 years of age Valid driver's license and insurable driving record Successful Pre-Employment Drug and Agility tests State-wide travel required.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar panels and associated equipment.
Electrical Knowledge:
Understanding of electrical systems, including DC and AC circuits, inverters, and wiring.
Safety Awareness:
Adherence to strict safety protocols and awareness of potential electrical hazards.
Troubleshooting:
Ability to diagnose and address issues in solar systems, including performance and connectivity problems.
Solar Panel Cleaning:
Skill in cleaning and maintaining solar panels for optimal efficiency.
Quality Control:
Attention to detail in installation and maintenance to ensure long-term system performance.
Tools and Equipment:
Competence in using specialized tools and equipment required for solar system work.
Customer Service:
Effective communication and customer interaction for service calls and inquiries.
Technical Documentation:
Record-keeping and documentation of service calls, maintenance, and repairs.
Problem Solving:
Analytical thinking to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Adaptability:
Ability to adapt to new solar technologies and industry trends.
Physical Stamina:
Physical fitness to handle equipment and work at heights when necessary.
Environmental Awareness:
Understanding of renewable energy principles and sustainable practices.
Certifications:
Possession of relevant certifications, such as NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification for solar professionals.
