Overview Join our dynamic team as a Road Service Technician and become a vital part of keeping heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery operating smoothly in the field. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment, providing on-the-spot repairs and maintenance to ensure minimal downtime for our clients. Duties Respond promptly to roadside service calls to diagnose and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and farm machinery in diverse settings. Perform vehicle diagnostics using schematics, electrical testing tools, and diagnostic software to identify mechanical or electrical issues. Conduct repairs on transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and other mechanical systems using hand tools and power tools. Maintain and repair heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Utilize welding, soldering, and fabrication skills for equipment repairs or modifications in the field. Perform tire service including replacement, balancing, and alignment to keep vehicles roadworthy. Complete detailed maintenance reports, service logs, and safety documentation following company protocols. Experience Proven dealership experience or extensive background working with heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with heavy truck repair, diesel engine repair, HVAC systems for vehicles, and automotive electrical system repair. Skilled in reading schematics and mechanical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems. Familiarity with excavator operation, crane maintenance, forklift servicing, and farm machinery repairs is advantageous. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, suspensions, shocks & struts, brakes, hydraulics, and vehicle systems. Ability to operate power tools safely while performing equipment assembly or maintenance tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about repairs and maintenance needs.
