Job Description

Position Overview:
Aid in the technical operations of Fox Products woodwind instruments by fitting keys, padding, and adjusting woodwind instruments in either the oboe production, bassoon production, clarinet production or instrument repair departments. Assist in the training and development of other instrument technicians. While this is a technical position, one may also be asked to assist with communication when necessary and cultivate relationships with dealers, musicians, and instrument owners as needed. Responsibilities & Duties Assess whether each Fox Products instrument meets specified standards Adjust padded woodwind instruments to specified standards Ensure pads are seated and create a proper seal Ensure connections, key fits, and spring tensions meet specifications Participate in cross-functional team to help define best practices Represent Fox Products positively to the music community Clearly understand and communicate outside feedback to the Fox Marketing & Development teams Operate light machinery, drill motors, reamers, sanders and buffers Operate small hand and power tools Properly utilize measuring tools, calipers, and scale Perform focused work on small parts with a high level of attention to detail and quality Provide leadership within the department. Assist with moving the business forward through positive change and helping with the development of others Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervisor Qualifications Bachelor of Music or higher. Performance or Education preferred with a concentration in oboe, bassoon, clarinet, or multiple woodwinds preferred. Ability to play at a high level Strong mechanical knowledge Ability to visualize an assembly and understand how the components fit together Demonstrate knowledge of policies, standards, operations, cleaning and maintenance techniques Show initiative and make suggestions on operational procedures and conditions Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in many mediums Disciplined, detail oriented, punctual, and quality minded Empathetic and positive attitude Organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills Self-motivated with ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment Collaborative and team-oriented personality Ability to follow all safety regulations PI35823ea068e0-25404-41543638
