2nd shift A day in the life You arrive on second shift and review the straightening queue. You match each work order to its paperwork, verify counts, and stage parts for processing. With blueprints and operation sheets at your side, you select the right approach to return each part to spec. Using dial indicators and careful technique, you correct straightness and confirm results to meet customer requirements. Urgent jobs? You track them end-to-end through the area to keep delivery promises. Throughout the shift, you run production by the book, report status to your Department Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager, and pitch in across finishing areas when needed. What you'll do Straighten parts to customer specifications, ensuring dimensional accuracy. Check orders in the Straightening area for complete and accurate paperwork; verify quantities and transfer to the next operation. Monitor and expedite priority jobs to meet committed delivery dates. Operate to established procedures, standards, and work instructions. Maintain quality levels that meet or exceed customer expectations. Read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets to determine required steps. Provide job status updates to the Department Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager. Cross-train and assist in other finishing departments as needed. Follow all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. What you'll bring Ability to juggle priorities and act with a strong sense of urgency. Proficiency reading blueprints and understanding operation sheets. Hands-on skill with dial indicators. Solid interpersonal communication and teamwork. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. High school diploma or equivalent.
