Job Description
Tom Gill Chevrolet is looking for an Automotive Service Technician to join the team! Daily/Weekly Job Duties Promotes dealership by presenting professional image, positive attitude, and clean work area. Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly. Suggests additional work that is needed to the Service Advisor so the customer may be notified. Completes service and repair assignments correctly, to pass quality inspections or test drives. Maintains sufficient personally-owned tools; keeps tools in good working order. Notifies Team Leader and service advisor if delays are expected. Maintains cleanliness of the customer's vehicle. Follows parts return process for Warranty claims. Promotes a productive working relationship with others. Provides clear and legible record of service completed for both customer and dealership use. Assists Service Advisors, if necessary, to explain completed repairs to a customer. Assists other technicians when needed. Makes decisions regarding repair options; asks for assistance as necessary. Completes repair orders within specified time frame and alerts appropriate personnel if delayed. Coordinates with Parts Department to ensure parts are available to complete repair. Uses manuals, GMVISS and diagrams as necessary to complete the repair order. Properly disposes of used parts and returns unused parts to the parts counterperson. Completes ADP Service Edge process correctly on every ticket Notifies service manager or team leader if any equipment or tools need repair. Performs thorough cleanup of their teams work area (including wipe down of racks and replacement of any leaking air hoses) Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and scheduled maintenance services Complete vehicle inspections and recommend maintenance needs Use manufacturer diagnostic equipment to identify and repair vehicle issues Perform warranty repairs according to Chevrolet and GM standards Road test vehicles to verify repairs Document repair procedures accurately on repair orders Work closely with Service Advisors to communicate repair recommendations Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area Qualifications ASE Certifications are valued but not required Strong diagnostic and mechanical abilities Willingness to continue learning new technology and repair procedures Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented Valid driver's license with a clean driving record What We Offer Factory training and OEM certification opportunities Modern shop with advanced diagnostic equipment Employee discounts on vehicles, service, and parts Career advancement opportunities throughout Tom Gill Auto Group Positive, team-oriented work environment Opportunities available for entry-level through Master Technicians PTO, 401K, Health/Dental/Vision
