Position Summary Standard Energy Solutions is a leader in renewable energy systems installed and maintained in the DC/Maryland/Virginia marketplace. The Solar Service Technician Manager oversees the maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance of residential solar energy systems. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on fieldwork, ensuring service quality, team efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is both technically skilled and comfortable managing people, processes, and service operations. Key Responsibilities Service Management & Operations Manage day-to-day service operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and workflow coordination Oversee preventative maintenance and corrective service activities for solar PV systems Monitor system performance and ensure timely resolution of service issues Maintain service records, reports, and documentation for all projects Team Leadership Supervise, train, and support service technicians Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance Conduct performance reviews and support ongoing team development Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Field Support (Hands-On Work) Perform occasional field service work including diagnostics, repairs, and system inspections Assist with complex troubleshooting and escalated service calls Ensure adherence to safety standards and company procedures in the field Customer Relations Serve as a point of contact for escalated customer concerns Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through clear communication and timely service Provide technical explanations and recommendations to customers when needed Compliance & Safety Ensure all work complies with local codes, regulations, and company safety policies Conduct safety audits and enforce best practices Maintain knowledge of industry standards and emerging technologies Qualifications 3-7+ years of experience in solar PV installation, maintenance, or service Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of solar systems, inverters, monitoring platforms, and electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose system issues effectively Comfortable performing occasional fieldwork (including roof access and outdoor conditions) Strong organizational and communication skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record Preferred Skills NABCEP certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience with service management software or CRM tools Electrical license (state-specific, if applicable) Work Environment Combination of office-based coordination and field service work Fieldwork may include rooftops, attics, and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions Moderate physical activity required
