$21-25, based on experience and interview Job Description We are seeking a mechanically inclined service technician / laborer-operator to support fueling systems and petroleum equipment projects. This position offers a mix of shop work, field service, and construction support, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy working hands-on with tools, machinery, and equipment in a variety of environments. The role involves assisting with installations, performing equipment maintenance and repairs, and supporting construction activities at gas stations. Key Responsibilities Assist shop mechanics with repairs and general labor tasks Operate sit-down forklifts to load, move, and unload equipment and materials Drive company vehicles to make deliveries and travel to job sites Support site preparation tasks including material movement and equipment setup Troubleshoot and repair fueling systems, including mechanical and electronic components Perform preventative maintenance to ensure proper equipment operation Install, program, and test fueling and petroleum equipment Assist with installation and removal of petroleum tanks, piping, and related systems Maintain organized parts inventory within service vehicles Collect environmental samples and perform testing as required Operate various equipment including skid loaders, air compressors, and power tools Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines Communicate clearly with customers and team members regarding work performed Qualifications Mechanical aptitude with experience in construction or equipment repair Experience operating forklifts and material-handling equipment Ability to safely operate a company vehicle and travel to job sites At least 1+ year of commercial construction or related experience Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electronic systems Ability to operate power tools and construction equipment Ability to lift, carry, and move materials regularly Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions Valid driver's license and work authorization Willingness to travel within the local region Preferred Qualifications Experience as a heavy equipment operator Experience with petroleum equipment installation or maintenance Familiarity with POS systems or related technology Experience with environmental testing or sampling Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Paid travel time and per diem for overnight assignments Consistent schedule with the ability to return home on weekends Hands-on training and exposure to a wide range of equipment and systems Opportunity to develop technical and mechanical skills Team-oriented environment focused on safety and quality Work Environment Combination of indoor shop work and outdoor field service at fueling sites Work performed at locations such as gas stations within a local travel radius Regular use of forklifts, skid loaders, power tools, and service equipment Physically active role requiring lifting, equipment operation, and hands-on tasks Safety-focused environment with strict adherence to procedures and guidelines This position offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career in mechanical service and construction while gaining experience with specialized equipment in a dynamic, hands-on role.
