Wake Forest, NC Job Summary The Entry-Level Water & Sewer Utility Technician assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.

This position performs manual labor and operates basic tools and equipment to assist with the repair of water and sewer services and the restoration of asphalt, concrete, and sod surfaces. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and a quick learner who can adapt to new tasks and responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of water mains, sewer lines, valves, hydrants, and service connections. Assist with repairing water leaks, sewer blockages, and damaged infrastructure. Perform trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and site restoration. Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required for daily work. Maintain and clean tools, vehicles, and work sites. Follow all safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and company policies. Assist with traffic control and work zone setup. Respond to emergency utility repairs when required. Work effectively as part of a crew to complete assigned projects. Qualifications No prior utility experience required; on-the-job training provided. Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred or ability to obtain). Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks. Willingness to learn utility systems and construction practices. Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills (Not Required) CDL Basic construction or labor experience. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Experience working in trenches or around heavy equipment. Knowledge of water or sewer utility systems. Working Conditions Start time is scheduled daily, but end times will vary depending on workload and job demands. Overtime is common. Outdoor work environment in varying weather conditions.
