Job Description

Frenchman Valley Coop Energy Service Technician (Chappell, Grant, Imperial Area)
Summary:
The Energy Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and safe operation of propane systems, bulk storage facilities, pumps, dispensing equipment, and related energy infrastructure. This position supports daily operations by ensuring propane delivery systems, tanks, equipment, and facilities remain safe, reliable, and compliant with all company, state, and federal regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair propane tanks, regulators, piping, valves, and related equipment. Perform leak checks, pressure tests, and safety inspections on propane systems. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on pumps, motors, compressors, meters, and dispensing equipment. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot bulk propane plants and storage facilities. Assist with tank setting, tank relocation, and tank removal projects. Perform preventative maintenance on company facilities, equipment, and grounds. Inspect and maintain cathodic protection systems where applicable. Complete service work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation accurately and timely. Respond to emergency service calls involving propane systems and equipment. Ensure compliance with
NFPA 58, DOT
regulations, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies. Assist with inventory management of parts, fittings, tools, and maintenance supplies. Operate company vehicles, equipment, forklifts, and other machinery safely. Participate in after-hours emergency response as needed. Support propane delivery, operations, and facility improvement projects when required. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at all company locations. Provide exceptional service that is dependable and focused. Other Duties May Be Assigned as Needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Mechanical aptitude with experience in maintenance, construction, industrial operations, agriculture, or energy-related fields preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and propane-related equipment. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain applicable propane certifications and licenses. Forklift, CDL, and fuel / energy industry experience preferred but not required. Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds. Climb ladders, stairs, tanks, and equipment platforms. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces. Ability to work at heights and around pressurized systems. Availability for occasional overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
