About the Role As a Field Equipment Specialist, you will serve as the primary technical expert responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of our commercial cleaning and restoration machinery. You will leverage your mechanical aptitude to diagnose complex engine and system issues, ensuring our high-performance equipment consistently meets rigorous industry standards. Responsibilities Diagnose and perform precision repairs on 2, 3, and 4-cylinder gas engines, truck-mounted carpet cleaning units, and portable extraction systems. Optimize equipment performance by utilizing advanced troubleshooting guides, diagnostic testing tools, and manufacturer technical manuals. Drive service department efficiency by meeting productivity benchmarks and managing shop workflow effectively. Maintain a high standard of safety and organization within the workshop to facilitate seamless equipment maintenance. Manage the full service lifecycle, including creating service orders, scheduling repairs, and coordinating with vendors for parts procurement. Deliver exceptional customer service by providing accurate repair estimates, communicating service timelines, and presenting technical solutions clearly. Qualifications Required Skills Proven mechanical experience with small engines, automotive systems, or industrial machinery. Proficiency in using hand and power tools for complex mechanical repairs. Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to interpret technical schematics and repair manuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer-facing interactions. Preferred Skills Prior experience repairing restoration equipment such as dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and HEPA vacuums. Familiarity with service scheduling software and inventory management systems. Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team-oriented service environment.
