Facility Services consists of Building & Landscape Services, Facilities Design & Construction (FDC), Facilities Customer Services, Facilities Support Services, and Technical Services and is responsible for maintaining more than 10 million square feet of facilities and 680 acres of open space.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Structural Tech 2, you'll be at the heart of our facilities team, performing a wide range of carpentry and structural tasks that keep our spaces functional, beautiful, and safe.
Your work will include:
1. Constructs, repairs, and/or installs carpentry elements including moldings, laminates, trim, and window and door systems. 2. Constructs and installs custom cabinetry. 3. Installs, repairs, or maintains door openers/closers and door hardware. 4. Installs glass doors, door hardware and metal framing. 5. Performs restoration work on wood cabinets, flooring, and furniture. 6. Reads and interprets structural blueprints, field drawings, and project layouts. 7. May perform other tasks to include repairs or installation of frame walls, sheetrock, insulation, flooring, painting, and other carpentry work. 8. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. 9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

This position requires you to work in the Health Sciences Center (HSC) area of UNM. This means you will be working in medical laboratory research, medical clinical, and medical academic spaces.
