POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply product knowledge, professional expertise and recommended procedures to conduct repairs. Perform service work in the field as required. Perform routine Preventative Maintenance while checking for other necessary repairs or causes of failure. Maintain timely and accurate customer and equipment documentation. Effectively utilize written instructions, diagnostic software and necessary equipment for diagnostics, repair and/or installation of equipment and components. Enhance the overall customer experience by effectively communicating with the customer and ensuring their equipment is well-cared for during the repair process. Collaborate cross-functionally with parts personnel and other departments to ensure the customer is taken care of. Proficiently use torches, welders, drills/bits, reamers, taps/dies, and other equipment to fabricate and repair equipment and components. Actively participate in routine training courses as assigned, while continuously seeking out opportunities to learn and develop. Maintain cleanliness of work area and safely utilize Heartland property and equipment.
POSITION SKILLS/ ABILITIES
Demonstrated familiarity with Vermeer products and/or similar industrial, agricultural equipment, utilizing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. High-level of computer proficiency with ability to utilize various software for diagnosis, repair and work order documentation/processing. Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-demand role on a consistent basis. Excellent customer service skills with ability to turn negative situations into positive experiences and opportunities. Excellent people management and communication skills for both internal co-workers and external customers and suppliers. Available on short notice to work overtime as customer demand or Vermeer Heartland operations dictate.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Valid driver's license and able to meet Heartland insurance providers qualifications. Ability to sit, stand, twist, lift and lower repeatedly and for extended periods in both internal and external environments. 1-3 years of experience as a Service Technician, Field Technician, or equivalent in a dealership environment. 1-3 years of experience with Vermeer industrial equipment or equivalent commercial, agricultural or material handling equipment a plus. Formal technical school training in hydraulics, electrical, gas/diesel engines and structural systems or equivalent experience a plus. Safety-sensitive
