Perform transit vehicle maintenance in compliance with company standards Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on transit vehicles Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections. Read and interpret safety documents, blue-prints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams Coach and monitor team members Other duties as required.Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age or older High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) Must have automotive maintenance experience Appropriate ASE certifications: ASE certification program provided. Mechanic's Tool Set Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. Excellent communication skills Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason. CDL Class A/B with pax Endorsement preferred, will trainPhysical Requirements:
The essential functions of this position require the ability to: Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces Push and pull objects up to 100 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
