We are seeking a skilled, safety-conscious Service Technician to perform residential roofing repairs, warranty work, maintenance services, and post-installation inspections on behalf of the branch. The Service Technician is a critical customer-facing field role. You will be dispatched to homeowner properties to diagnose roofing issues, perform targeted repairs, complete warranty service calls, and document your findings accurately for the branch production and customer service teams. Unlike full replacement crews, the Service Technician operates primarily as a solo or small-team field professional — you are expected to arrive prepared, work independently, communicate clearly with homeowners on-site, and represent the Alloy Roofing brand with professionalism and care on every visit. This role is ideal for an experienced roofing professional who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, enjoys direct customer interaction, and wants a stable, W-2 position with a growing, well-resourced roofing platform. Key Responsibilities Repairs & Service Work Perform residential roofing repairs including but not limited to: shingle replacement, flashing repair and replacement, valley repair, ridge cap replacement, pipe boot and penetration sealing, gutter repair, and minor decking repair Diagnose the source and scope of roof leaks, storm damage, and workmanship issues through on-site inspection; communicate findings clearly to the homeowner and branch office Complete all assigned service calls within the scheduled time window; notify the Production Coordinator promptly of any scope changes, additional materials needed, or work that cannot be completed same-day Ensure all repair work meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications, local building code requirements, and Alloy Roofing quality standards Perform emergency service calls as dispatched, including tarping and temporary weatherproofing following storm events Warranty Work Respond to and resolve warranty service requests on Alloy Roofing-installed systems within the timeframes established by branch policy and the applicable warranty terms Conduct thorough on-site warranty inspections to determine root cause — workmanship defect, material failure, or homeowner-caused damage — and document findings with photos and written notes Complete approved warranty repairs to the standard of the original installation; escalate systemic or complex warranty issues to the General Manager or Production Coordinator Communicate warranty findings and resolution clearly to the homeowner; ensure the customer is satisfied before leaving the job site Maintain accurate warranty service records in ServiceTitan, including photos, scope of work performed, materials used, and customer sign-off Inspections & Assessments Conduct post-installation quality control inspections on completed roofing projects as directed by the Production Coordinator or General Manager; document findings and flag deficiencies for correction Perform pre-sale or insurance-related roof condition assessments as directed; document roof age, condition, visible damage, and recommended action with photos and written notes Assist the sales team with technical assessments on complex or unusual roofing systems when requested Identify and report upsell or additional service opportunities observed during service visits; communicate potential leads to the branch sales team Customer Interaction & Professionalism Greet homeowners professionally upon arrival; introduce yourself, explain the scope of the visit, and set clear expectations for the work to be performed Walk the homeowner through findings and completed work upon job conclusion; answer questions clearly and in plain language Obtain homeowner sign-off on completed service calls and warranty work before leaving the property Represent Alloy Roofing professionally at all times — in appearance, communication, and conduct — on every homeowner property Report homeowner complaints, concerns, or escalations to the Production Coordinator or General Manager immediately Materials, Tools & Vehicle Management Maintain a stocked service vehicle with commonly used repair materials, tools, and safety equipment; submit material replenishment requests to the Production Coordinator in advance of running low Inspect and maintain all tools, equipment, ladders, and safety gear in safe working condition; report damaged or defective equipment immediately and remove it from service Keep the company service vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained; report mechanical issues promptly and comply with all company vehicle use policies Track material usage per job and submit accurate daily job reports, including materials consumed, work performed, and time on site, in ServiceTitan Safety & Compliance Adhere strictly to all Alloy Roofing safety policies, OSHA fall protection standards, and applicable local safety regulations on every job site Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) on every roof access, including fall protection harness, hard-soled footwear, and any site-specific safety equipment Conduct a brief site safety assessment before beginning any roof access; identify and mitigate hazards including steep pitch, fragile surfaces, overhead utilities, and adverse weather conditions Never access a roof in unsafe conditions; communicate site safety concerns to the Production Coordinator before proceeding Participate in all required safety training, toolbox talks, and compliance programs as directed by branch leadership Report all on-site accidents, near-misses, injuries, or property damage incidents immediately to the General Manager and HR per company incident reporting policy Qualifications Required Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on residential roofing experience, including demonstrated proficiency in roofing repairs, leak diagnosis, flashing work, and material identification Working knowledge of residential roofing systems including asphalt shingle, flat/low-slope, and common penetration and flashing details Ability to safely access and work on roofs of varying pitch, including steep-slope residential roofing, using proper ladder and fall protection techniques Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must be insurable under company vehicle policy Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-friendly demeanor; ability to interact confidently with homeowners on their property Ability to work independently, manage your own daily schedule, and prioritize multiple service calls efficiently Preferred OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 construction certification Experience with a variety of roofing systems including architectural shingle, 3-tab, modified bitumen, TPO, or metal roofing Familiarity with ServiceTitan, JobNimbus, or similar field service management platforms for job documentation and time tracking Experience performing insurance-related damage assessments or working alongside adjusters Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish a plus Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding outdoor field position. Candidates must be able to perform the following essential physical functions, with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb extension ladders and access residential rooftops of varying pitch on a daily basis; comfort and proficiency working at heights is essential Walk, kneel, crouch, and maneuver on sloped roof surfaces for extended periods throughout the workday Stand, walk, and work on feet for the majority of each shift — typically 6 to 10 hours — in outdoor conditions Lift, carry, and position materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs (e.g., bundles of shingles); regularly lift and carry loads of 50 lbs or more Carry and extend ladders; position, secure, and climb ladders on varied surfaces including grass, pavement, and gravel Work outdoors in all weather conditions consistent with local seasonal conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and humidity; outdoor work is not suspended for mild weather Perform repetitive physical motions including hammering, fastening, cutting, bending, and reaching overhead and across roof surfaces Operate hand tools, power tools, nail guns, and roofing equipment safely and effectively Drive a company service vehicle to and from job sites daily; operate the vehicle safely and in compliance with company policy Alloy Roofing is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.
