Director of Operations Position Overview:
The Dock Logic Technician Assistant will work closely with senior technicians to ensure proper installation, inspection, and maintenance of dock levelers, high-speed doors, truck restraints, and security or fire-rated doors. This position is ideal for candidates interested in starting a career in dock and door service, offering opportunities to learn technical skills on the job and advance through strong communication and teamwork, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist senior technicians: Support the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial doors and loading dock equipment Maintenance and repairs: Perform routine maintenance on docks, doors, dock-levelers, and associated hardware under guidance of senior technician Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper lifting techniques Help unload, lift, and prepare equipment and parts for installation, typically including heavy items up to 50-100 pounds Assist in electronically completing work orders, reporting repair details, and communicating with the service team to ensure accurate tracking of service calls
Skills and Abilities Required:
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn about mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Must be comfortable working safely in elevated spaces, including ladders, lifts, and platforms. Ability to work in hot and cold working environments. Willing and able to complete same day travel within a 3-hour radius of home location.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Education and Experience Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
