Role:
The Technician role is pivotal in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and longevity of motorbikes within a retail trade environment. This position involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing precise part replacements to maintain high standards of vehicle reliability. The Technician will work closely with customers and team members to provide expert advice and service, enhancing customer satisfaction and trust. By maintaining detailed records of repairs and maintenance, the Technician contributes to efficient workflow and inventory management. Ultimately, this role supports the business's reputation for quality service and technical excellence in motorbike care.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in motorbike maintenance and repair. Proficiency with motorbike tools and equipment. Strong understanding of motorbike mechanical systems and part replacement procedures. Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification from a recognized motorbike or automotive technical program. Experience working in a retail trade environment. Familiarity with diagnostic software and electronic motorbike systems. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Perform thorough inspections and diagnostics on motorbikes to identify mechanical and electrical issues. Execute motorbike part replacements and repairs using appropriate tools and techniques. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake adjustments, and tire replacements to ensure vehicle safety and performance. Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair status and recommendations to customers and management. Collaborate with the retail team to manage inventory of parts and tools, ensuring availability for timely repairs.
Skills:
The required skills in motorbike tools, part replacement, and maintenance are applied daily to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently and accurately. The Technician uses specialized tools to disassemble and reassemble motorbike components, ensuring repairs meet safety and quality standards. Preferred skills such as familiarity with diagnostic software enhance the ability to identify complex problems quickly, improving service turnaround times.
