Job Overview Join our dynamic optometry and optical practice as an Optometric Technician / Front Desk Coordinator, where your energy and enthusiasm will help create a welcoming environment for patients and ensure smooth clinic operations. In this pivotal role, you will assist with patient care, manage front desk responsibilities, and support the clinical team to deliver exceptional eye care services. Your proactive approach will contribute to a positive patient experience, efficient workflow, and the overall success of our practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in both medical and retail environments within the eye care industry. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify their appointment details, and facilitate a seamless check-in process using Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Collect and document patient intake information, including medical history, current medications, and reason for visit, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulation. Prepare patients for eye examinations by conducting preliminary tests and maintaining aseptic technique to ensure infection control standards are met Assist optometrists during eye exams by recording findings, managing ophthalmic equipment, and supporting clinical procedures Manage medical records accurately, including documentation of diagnoses, treatments, billing codes, and insurance information Handle front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls professionally, processing payments, and managing retail sales of eyewear products using retail math skills Qualifications Prior experience in medical office settings or optical practices is desirable but not required. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor to create a positive patient experience at the front desk Basic retail sales experience combined with retail math skills to promote eyewear products confidently Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in record keeping and billing processes Join us in making a difference by providing outstanding eye care while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for every patient. $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
