Field Service Technician

6 Month Contract To Hire M-F 8-5 schedule with one rotiational call a month

Pay Rate:

$20-25/hr Required Skills & Experience

• At least 6+ months of Service/Cable/Installation Technician work
• Cabling or Installation experience with a variety of the following:
• Fiber Optics, Cat 5, Cat 6, Ethernet cables such as RJ45 or RG6, Coaxial, and Copper
• Experience performing all or a combination of the following:
• splicing fiber, terminating/certifying cables, installing servers in racks, punching down on patch panels, putting on head-ends, installing internet/security systems, and structured cabling Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Cable Management Certifications
• Experience with AV, Security, and TV installation or cabling
• Exposure to both Retrofit and New Construction environments
• Experience working in a helpdesk environment Insight Global is looking to hire a Service Technician in a Contract-to-Hire role for a client of ours in Ames, IA.

This candidate will be servicing internet clients all across the central Iowa region. Any service requests, outages, and while not handling service requests they will be working in a customer service/ helpdesk role. The hiring manager is looking for someone who can go out into the field and trust that the work is getting done in a timely and professional manner. Candidates will be expected to follow direction from the Project Manager, and also a PM Tool called Base Camp that lays out project details and to-dos. This candidate will join a team of telecommunication professionals who provide high-speed internet and security solutions to commercial business and multi-dwelling units.
