Job Description

EPMS Field Engineer Job Summary:
The EPMS Field Engineer is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and SCADA infrastructure. This role involves configuring field devices, developing communication mappings, supporting network and server installations, and ensuring system functionality meets customer and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution within the Ignition SCADA system. Develop and implement Modbus mappings for controllers and field devices. Coordinate SCADA role management and ensure access permissions comply with contractual agreements while meeting customer operational needs. Conduct advanced hardware and software controls troubleshooting for EPMS systems. Prepare and configure servers for SCADA deployments, including SQL database setup and property configuration. Install, terminate, and organize fiber optic cabling infrastructure. Install, configure, and troubleshoot network switches and communication equipment. Configure field devices for EPMS integration and monitoring. Set up and maintain data collection computers and associated systems. Support commissioning, testing, and system validation activities at customer sites. Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to ensure reliable system performance and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with Ignition SCADA systems and industrial automation platforms. Knowledge of Modbus communication protocols and controller integration. Strong understanding of EPMS, industrial networking, and controls systems. Experience with SQL databases, server configuration, and data management. Familiarity with fiber optic cable termination and network switch configuration. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in hardware and software environments. Ability to work independently in field environments and customer sites. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
