The Communications Technician operates a centralized telephone switchboard; placing, receiving, and routing a high volume of calls. Operates two-way communication equipment, paging system, and public address system as needed. Announces emergency codes and coordinates the response to codes among different on-site departments and off-site emergency responders. Enters employee and vehicle information into the computer and issues vehicle parking stickers. Greets, directs, and ensures completion of paperwork regarding sign-in/sign-out procedures for guests and visitors.
