A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Job Description

SCA Position:
This position is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA). Compensation will be provided in accordance with the applicable Department of Labor Wage Determination, including required wages and fringe benefits.
JOB SUMMARY
Perform wide variety of activities associated with onsite installation of telecommunications infrastructure. Expected to rely on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish tasks. Works under general supervision and may provide limited direction or assistance to Technician I and
II. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete tasks required for end-to-end system installation and testing. Duties and responsibilities will vary based on project type, scope, duration and manpower assignments. Specific duties and responsibilities will also be dictated by the individual's level of knowledge and experience. JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Familiar with commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the construction and/or telecommunications installation field. Expected to rely on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish tasks Work under general supervision and may provide limited direction or assistance to Technician II Ability to stoop, kneel or crouch Must be able to climb ladders up to 25 feet and work on lifts up to 40 feet Must be able to lift or carry loads up to 50 pounds
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 3-4
years of telecommunication infrastructure installation experience required High school diploma or its equivalent Some level of job-related certification generally obtained for this level of knowledge and skill Ability to travel out of town 100% of the time Ability to secure and maintain Defense Department Security Clearance Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (drug and background) and have a valid drivers license Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled XJ6
