Surveillance Technician Level

WAGE:
BASED ON EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation and termination of unishield twisted pair, fiber optic, coax, LAN, RS422, low voltage, power limited, and associated wiring. Install, maintain, program and troubleshoot Closed Circuit Television equipment including network cameras, recording equipment, network equipment (servers, switches, IP devices, encoders, interfaces, etc.) Access control systems installation, programming, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting as related to surveillance and facility needs including card readers and electronic locks & controllers. Perform preventative maintenance schedule of CCTV equipment and department applications. Perform occasional emergency repair on-call status as department requires or entails. Keep accurate records of maintenance inventory, repair logs and budget equipment expenditures. Keep up to date with the (MICS) Minimum Internal Control Standards & industry accepted best practices on structured wiring, data center, & low voltage codes, installation and testing. Occasional operations from the surveillance control room will be required upon request. Attend pertinent training seminars and conferences where travel may be required. Coordinate installs and changes with other departments (I.T., management, slots, etc.) & outside contractors. Delegate duties, instruct and maintain communication with Technician 1 level personnel. Perform other duties as assigned by Surveillance Manager.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associates Degree in Electronics/Computer Science.Experience:
Minimum 3 Years verifiable experience in electronics/computer related field. Hands on experience working with electronic test equipment, hand tools, network & fiber test equipment along with cable pulling and termination equipment. Prefer a general knowledge of casino games and rulesKnowledge:
Knowledge of hardware including digital video management systems, access control systems (card readers, scanners, locking hardware), network (servers, switches, RAID arrays) and software including Windows & Linuix, pooled storage and hard drive maintenance required. HDMI, display port, H.264/.265 and associated video compression protocols. Knowledge of industry best accepted practices of structured & low voltage wiring including NEC article 720 & 800 & BOCA codes as they relate to surveillance, access control and communication equipment throughout control room, data center & facilities. Extensive use of T568B, fiber & wireless IEEE802. Gigabit, RS422/485, TCP/IP, Cat 5e, Cat 6, USB, SCSI, SATA & protocols required.Skills and Abilities:
Strong - software, electrical & mechanical problem solving skills. Must have the ability to troubleshoot electronics to component levels. Must possess mechanical skills necessary to install, repair, and diagnosis critical equipment. Must also have a general knowledge of surveillance operations. Must be able to maintain strict confidentialityTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Advanced computer/keyboarding for date entry, installation & termination tools for UTP, coax, fiber, LAN, and fax machine. Multi meter, O/scope, radio frequency equipment, network, fiber and video test equipment along with general hand tools, drills, taps, conduit tools, saws, grinders, cable pulling & locating equipment, aerial lift safety equipment and lock out tag out applications.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sit for up to 4 hours of an 8-hour shift. Must be able to use both right/left hands for repetitive motion for up to 6 ¼ hour of an 8- hour shift. Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, reach, twist and rotate, overhead reaching may apply as needed in an 8-hour shift. • Work safely on an elevated platform or ladder as needed during an 8-hour shift.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to work in confined spaces, aerial space, construction zones and customer occupied areas where labor may be required. Must be able to handle constant noise and must be able to make quick decisions and sound judgment calls. Proper safety equipment awareness and application will be observed at all times.
