A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Location:
Michigan (hybrid : field-based / remote between customer visits) The hourly rate for this role is $25-30 USD per hour, plus overtime eligibility. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and location. Travel is required up to 80-85%, primarily during the week. A company vehicle, gas card, and stipend are provided. What You'll Own Installations & Deployments Install and configure WSI systems on-site, including servers, applications, and recording infrastructure. Rack, cable, configure, and test hardware in data center and telecom environments. Configure Windows desktop and server operating systems, including virtual environments. Test completed installations and confirm systems meet customer requirements before sign-off. Technical Support & Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues. Respond to customer support requests within established SLA expectations. Manage service tickets and field visits independently. Escalate complex technical issues when additional support is required. Customer Service & Documentation Act as the primary technical contact during on-site customer visits. Keep customers informed about timelines, issues, progress, and resolutions. Document installations, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system. Maintain clear service records and provide feedback that can improve internal processes and product performance. What We're Looking For Hands-on experience supporting Windows operating systems across desktop and server environments. Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network connectivity. Experience working with ITSM or ticketing tools such as ServiceNow. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently. Ability to travel up to 80-85% and successfully complete required government site clearance/background checks. Ability to work on ladders for wiring and cabling and routinely lift up to 70 lbs of computer equipment during installations and repairs. Experience with phone recording software, hardware, or telephony systems. Experience with Active Directory and Exchange. Relevant technical certifications such as NICE, CompTIA A+/Network+/Server+/Security+, Microsoft certifications, or CCNA.
