Full-Time Position Summary Mark Twain Communications is seeking a highly motivated Internet Technician to join our team of industry-leading professionals. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of both Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Fixed Wireless Internet services throughout Northeast Missouri. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of wired and wireless home networking, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, activate, test, and maintain residential and business fiber and fixed wireless internet services. Configure and troubleshoot wired and wireless home networks, including routers, Wi-Fi systems, switches, and connected devices. Diagnose and resolve internet connectivity, performance, and network-related issues. Provide technical support and service recovery assistance to subscribers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude. Climb residential rooftops and communication towers to install, inspect, and maintain network equipment. Work safely in confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces, and other challenging environments. Install and maintain subscriber equipment, including network terminals, wireless radios, customer premise equipment (CPE), and associated cabling. Perform service calls, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs as needed. Educate subscribers on the operation of internet services and connected devices. Accurately complete work orders, documentation, and service records. Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices. Participate in on-call and after-hours support rotations as required. Required Qualifications Strong understanding of wired and wireless networking concepts and home network troubleshooting. Ability to diagnose and support a wide variety of internet-connected devices. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful service restoration and customer recovery situations. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to use smartphones, tablets, computers, and technical testing equipment. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred: Fiber optic internet installation and repair Fixed wireless internet installation and support Construction or telecommunications infrastructure Security and surveillance systems Satellite television installation Cable television or broadband installation Low-voltage wiring and structured cabling Radio frequency (RF) communications systems Physical Requirements The successful candidate must be in good physical condition and capable of performing the essential functions of the position, including: Climbing residential roofs and ladders. Climbing residential and commercial communications towers. Lifting, carrying, and moving equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Working at heights and in confined spaces. Standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, and bending for extended periods. Working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
