This position provides technical support across Information Technology, server/network infrastructure, and business telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting computers, networks, and servers while also being comfortable supporting and programming hosted/cloud-based business phone systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, the ability to learn different technologies, and excellent communication with both technical and non-technical customers. Duties Provide help desk support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues. Provide Windows Server support, troubleshooting server-related issues and assisting with routine server administration. Administer Active Directory, including creating and managing users, security groups, permissions, and organizational units. Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPO). Support and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, file shares, permissions, and other Windows Server services. Assist with server maintenance, updates, backups, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot connectivity between workstations, servers, network devices, and cloud services. Provide SIP and VoIP telecommunications support for business customers. Program, configure, install, and troubleshoot hosted/cloud-based business phone systems. Configure phones, extensions, users, call routing, hunt groups, ring groups, auto attendants, voicemail, and related business phone features. Troubleshoot SIP registration, call routing, one-way/no audio, network connectivity, and voice quality issues. Provision and configure IP phones and other VoIP equipment. Assist with new customer phone system installations, migrations, programming, and cutovers. Work with internet and SIP providers when troubleshooting telecommunications and connectivity issues. Manage and troubleshoot VPN connections and secure remote access. Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot firewall configurations. Assist with computer networking, including switches, routers, wireless access points, VLANs, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS. Document customer systems, programming changes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions. Track service requests and incidents through the company's ticketing and service management systems. Work with other technicians on escalated IT, server, networking, and telecommunications issues. Communicate directly with customers to understand problems and provide professional and timely solutions. Assist with both remote support and on-site service calls as needed. Experience Previous experience as an IT Technician, Help Desk Technician, Network Technician, Telecommunications Technician, or similar technical role is preferred. Experience supporting Windows Server environments is preferred. Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file shares, and user permissions. Experience troubleshooting Windows workstations and servers in a business environment. Experience with server backups, updates, monitoring, and general maintenance is a plus. Experience with SIP, VoIP, or hosted/cloud-based business phone systems is highly preferred. Experience programming or supporting business telephone systems is a plus. Understanding of business phone features such as extensions, call routing, auto attendants, hunt groups, voicemail, and SIP trunks. Familiarity with VPN technologies and firewall management. Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, switches, wireless networks, and general network troubleshooting. Experience with help desk or ticketing systems is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot problems logically and determine whether an issue originates from a workstation, server, network, firewall, internet connection, phone system, carrier, or endpoint. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a technical team while also handling assigned service requests independently. Willingness and ability to learn multiple IT, server, networking, and telecommunications platforms. Position Focus This is a combined IT, server/network, and telecommunications technician position. Candidates should understand that the role is not limited to traditional computer help desk support. The position includes supporting Windows servers, Active Directory, networks, computers, firewalls, hosted business telephone systems, and SIP/VoIP services. We are looking for a technician who wants to develop a broad technical skill set and become comfortable troubleshooting and supporting customers across their complete technology environment.
