JOB DESCRIPTION
Alaurenworks is seeking reliable and detail-oriented independent contractors for a temporary telematics installation project in Jersey City, New Jersey. Contractors will assist with the installation of telematics scanners at an indoor job site and will run and connect cables from the scanners to designated gateways. This is a hands-on installation position that requires attention to detail, the ability to follow technical instructions, and a commitment to completing quality work within the project timeframe.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Install telematics scanners at designated locations throughout the job site. Run and route cables from scanners to designated gateways. Connect equipment and cables according to project specifications and instructions. Properly secure and organize cables. Verify that installed equipment and connections are properly completed. Identify and communicate installation issues or equipment problems. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow all applicable job-site safety requirements. Complete assigned work according to project schedules and quality requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience with telematics, telecommunications, networking, low-voltage cabling, equipment installation, or similar hands-on technical work is preferred. Ability to follow technical instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail. Comfortable working with cables, electronic equipment, and hand tools. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with installation work, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling equipment. Dependable and able to complete assigned project work. Ability to work professionally in an active job-site environment. Previous installation experience may qualify you for the higher end of the compensation range.
COMPENSATION AND PAYMENT
Compensation ranges from $30•45 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications. This project is offered on an independent-contractor, 1099 basis. Payment terms are Net 30. Contractors will submit invoices for completed and accepted services in accordance with the contractor agreement. Approved invoices will be paid within 30 days according to the agreed payment terms.
SCHEDULE
The expected start date is September 14, 2026. The project is expected to run for approximately four weeks. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, for a total of 40 hours per week. No weekend work is expected.
