Experienced Field Technician For Compressors

Looking for an experienced Field Technician for Natural Gas Compressors - This role is overnight This is a local job in Carlsbad, NM that will then travel to compressor locations throughout the Permian Basin. Job Description This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing natural gas compressors and associated equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation in the Permian Basin. The position may include installing or performing routine preventative maintenance on systems in Carlsbad, Artesia, Hobbs, or Pecos, TX. Responsibilities Assemble, install, and commission natural gas compressors and related equipment. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to ensure proper setup. Perform alignment, calibration, and testing of compressor systems. Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing of compressors. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues. Replace worn parts, lubricate equipment, and adjust system settings for optimal performance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance. Respond to equipment malfunctions and emergencies. Use diagnostic tools to identify root causes of failures. Repair or replace defective components to restore functionality. Essential Skills Compressor expertise and mechanical aptitude. Natural gas and pipeline knowledge. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and precision in work. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently in field environments. Commitment to safety practices. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Vapor Recovery Unit experience (VRU). Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, EPA, industry-specific). Valid driver's license; willingness to travel to field sites. Work Environment This is a field-based role with exposure to outdoor environments and industrial sites. It may require lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods. Rotational shifts, on-call duties, and travel to remote compressor stations may be required. The night shift hours are Sunday-Thursday (off Friday and Saturday) 7PM-7AM or Friday-Tuesday (off Wednesday and Thursday) 7PM-7AM. Must be on call once per month, with everyone rotating. Job Location This job is in Carlsbad, NM and will travel in company vehicle daily out to different compressor sites. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Carlsbad, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
