This individual will be responsible for taking incoming telephone calls from persons requesting information or wanting Police and/or Fire assistance and determining appropriate action required. Dispatchers must speak English in a clear, effective and authoritative manner. They must be able to speak with, and understand people of varying social, cultural and educational backgrounds. This is a fast paced environment that requires the ability to multi-task.
Must pass physical examination, drug testing, driving record check and criminal background investigation. The City of Lancaster is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

SHIFT:
Employee will be required to work the following shifts: 7:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. -11:00 p m., 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., or other hours as required.QUALIFICATIONS
Requires high school or equivalent. Previous dispatching experience preferred. Requires ability to demonstrate customer service skills in a courteous and professional manner.Must pass physical examination, drug testing, driving record check and criminal background investigation.
