A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Responsibilities Install fiber/coax cable from the utility pole/service point to customers' homes Run and install cable inside residential properties Connect, activate, and configure internet, TV, and phone equipment Troubleshoot basic service/connectivity issues Perform ladder and field work Provide basic customer education and complete required job documentation Requirements Valid U.S. driver's license and SSN Conversational English and good customer-service skills Able to perform ladder and physical field work Able to pass a background check and drug screening Previous fiber/coax/cable installation experience is preferred Schedule & Compensation 1099 Independent Contractor 5-6 days/week , typically 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Production-based pay: approximately $30•150 per completed job Typical earnings: $1,200•1,800+ per week , depending on experience, completed jobs, and available workload First payment approximately 3 weeks after starting , then paid weekly Vehicle A white minivan or pickup truck is preferred. Vehicle rental may be available for $150/week , subject to availability.
