Full Job Description Job Summary :
As a Field Ops Technician at Empire Access, you will play a crucial role in establishing and supporting reliable connectivity for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing telephone, internet, and fiber optic services. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation:
Install and set up telephone, internet, and fiber optic services at customer locations.
Maintenance :
Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure the continued functionality of installed systems.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to connectivity, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
Repair :
Conduct repairs on faulty equipment, cables, and connections to restore services promptly.
Customer Service:
Interact with customers professionally, addressing inquiries, providing technical support, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure adherence to company standards and quality benchmarks in all installation and repair tasks.
Requirements:
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting telephone, internet, and fiber optic systems.
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
Problem-Solving:
Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to work in physically demanding environments, climb poles or ladders, and lift heavy equipment.
Team Player:
Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other technicians and support teams.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair situations.
Driving License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be willing to travel as needed to meet customer needs.
AFTCOM Fingerprinting:
May be required to pass background check via fingerprinting. Only applicable to techs providing services in New York State.
Education and Experience:
1-3 years of experience in telecommunications or technology related field. Technical certification or associate degree preferred. Experience in customer service support role
Working Conditions:
Work requires mostly outside cable work, both aerial and buried, copper and fiber. Most tasks are outdoors and at customer locations.
Pay Range:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on experience.
