A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Job Description

Overview Miller Information Systems (MIS) is a 40+ year old solution provider. We provide complete business communications infrastructure solutions with best-in-class service. Solutions including structured cabling, telecom, audiovisual, and physical security systems. This is a multi-disciplined role to include installing and maintaining integrated security systems of various technologies to include access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and more. MIS' primary line card is focused on the following security platforms: Genetec Motorola/Avigilon (ACM, Open Path, ACC, Unity, Alta) ACRE Product Lines (Access It!) Hanwha Video Surveillance ButterflyMX More security solutions available through MIS being authorized vendors through dealerships and maufacturers Experience Currently looking for experienced and non-experienced personnel (training is offered for all products supplied by MIS) Experience using power tools. Technicians will need to provide their own hand tools. Low voltage work - wiring panels and devices Physical device installations in the field PC sofware for management and programming of systems Experience with software based managed security platforms Must be able to assign an IP address to a device from a laptop/client amongst other software based specifics Expectations Must be able to pass background check Valid driver's license (MIS will provide vehicle) Must be trainable with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills Must be able to work in weather conditions (within reason) Minor ladder and lift work (with partner(s) in field) Have an understanding of OSHA practices and experience on construction sites Must be able to work with a team, while being individually accountable Travel greater Pittsburgh area and possible occasional out of state for on-location work MIS will provide van, laptop, cell phone, power tools specific to the installation. MIS offers health, vision, and dental insurance, 401k/401k matching, 8 paid holidays, 15 PTO to start. Position is not specified by labor ranges from brand new technicians to veteran workers. MIS will work with employees on training as needed for those hired. Pay range is decided by verifying workers skillsets at the time of hire.
