Utility Construction Methods Specialist (T&D)Duration:
12+ Months Contract (Possible Extension)Location:
Providence, RI 02907Hybrid:
3 days onsite (Office / Field Work) and 2 days remote every week.Ideal Candidate:
Former lineman or substation professional with hands-on field experience, strong technical background, and the ability to develop and document work procedures.Job Summary:
Responsible for developing, standardizing, and communicating construction methods and procedures for transmission, distribution, and substation work. This role bridges field operations and engineering by translating real-world practices into safe, efficient, and standardized work methods across the organization.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain construction procedures, work methods, checklists, and job aids for utility operations Collaborate with field crews, engineers, safety, and training teams to ensure procedures are practical and compliant Review and update technical documents to support safe installation, operation, and maintenance of utility systems Support creation of training materials, mock-ups, and simulations for field implementation Drive adoption of standardized practices through presentations, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement initiatives Identify and incorporate new technologies and industry best practices into procedures Participate in industry committees and support enterprise-level standards initiatives Provide support during emergency/storm restoration efforts as neededRequired Qualifications:
5+ years of electric utility construction/field experience (e.g., transmission, distribution, or substation). OR Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 2+ years of relevant utility field experience .Preferred Skills:
Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Effective communication and presentation abilities. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard documentation tools.Pay:
$60.00 - $70.00 per hourWork Location:
